Is It Worth Traveling for Dental Treatment? An Honest Answer With the Numbers (2026)
For implants, crowns and All-on-4, usually yes, even after travel. When it isn't worth it, the real risks, and 8 questions to ask before choosing a clinic.
When you are thinking about implants or new teeth, price is usually the first thing you check. But the question that really decides it is a different one: who will treat me — and how does this person work?
That is why we would like to introduce Dr Ninoslav Konatar, implant and prosthetic dentist at our clinic in Belgrade. Before you read on, take 36 seconds to hear him.
Dr Ninoslav Konatar on how he works (36 seconds, in Serbian with German subtitles)
Dr Konatar has practised dentistry for more than 20 years, focusing on implantology and prosthetics — exactly what most patients contact us about: implants, crowns, bridges and fixed teeth when several teeth are missing.
He opened his first practice 20 years ago in Doboj with his wife, Dr Natalija Konatar, a specialist in preventive and paediatric dentistry. Today we also work in Belgrade, in a modern clinic in the Vračar district.
“The patient should know what we are doing, why we are doing it and what result to expect.”
The biggest fear at the dentist is often not pain but uncertainty. So before any procedure you get a clear plan: what is needed, in what order, how long it takes and what it costs. Decisions are made together — not in the chair, in a hurry.
“For me it matters that a smile is not only beautiful, but functional and stable in everyday life.”
A smile that looks good in a photo is not hard to make. Teeth that let you chew and speak normally for years, without straining your jaw, are harder. That is why every plan looks at your bite and bone, not just the colour and shape of the teeth.
“I rely on precise diagnostics, long-term solutions and experience — no improvisation.”
Every plan starts with an X-ray, not a guess. X-ray and 3D scanning show how much bone you have, where an implant can go and what is realistic in your case. If a solution is not good for you in the long run, we will tell you openly.
The clinic has its own X-ray and 3D scanner, and the waiting area feels more like a living room than a hospital. Besides Belgrade, we have clinics in Čačak, Doboj, Bijeljina and Banja Luka.

Yes. You receive the plan and price before treatment starts, based on your X-ray. If the examination shows something new, we talk to you first — nothing is done without your consent.
The first consultation is free and without obligation.
It depends on the treatment. You get the exact schedule with your treatment plan; larger work is usually planned over two visits, with healing time in between. Read more about implant aftercare when you return home.
